Default Turbo kit

I am looking into putting a turbo kit on my car. If anyone here has one on their car, can they tell me all what I will need, or what first step I should take? I was considering getting 3" apexi exhaust first. I have an automatic 01 tib. I just had a new transmission and front axle put on. I have some cheap aftermarket intake on it right now, which i will be switching that to injen or aem. And i have just a straight airflow muffler exhaust. But when it comes to all the parts i am going to need, i know its going to be quite expensive. I want to get the best performance I can out of it. Later on down the road I will be putting rims on, but I want it to be a sleeper for now. My email is lewzurs@aol.com

Thanks,
Courtney

tiburons are cop magnets no matter what rims you have. a cop followed me almost 30 miles in maine until she finally caught me speeding. 210$ fine. and at the time all i had was the fartpipe muffler like you.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in china?
He said sleeper which means a car that doesn't look fast but when you pull up and race it, it suprises the hell out of you. It has nothing to do with avoiding the law.

To avoid the law, you don't break it. :hmmm:

Most people go for sleepers to either surprise the hell out of someone in a fast-looking car, or avoid the eyes of cops. COps tend to keep an eye out for sporty looking cars, well known fact. Not making any excuses, but Maine sucks. Speed limit was 55 i was going 65, and because Im from NH that totals out to an outrageous speeding ticket. If I were driving a Ford contour or somehting like that, chances are I would have gotten a warning despite the fact I was an out of stater. Big shiny rims would have made no difference either, tiburon is a sports car and mine is bright red. Cop magnet, and ricers who think nos stickers add horsepower magnet.

Well I live in Florida, and I've not once been pulled over in my car, and I always do 10-20 over. Cops here speed as well so when they do you just follow behind them, and not too closely. They arent that bad here. And I want a sleeper because I'm a girl and can be very competitive just for the hell of it, so if someone wants to race and they see its a girl, they'll most likely think "Oh she's just got stock on her car" I know I should probably do an engine swap, but I need to know a list of everything I would possibly need, and if my car would be able to handle the power.I got it when it had 15,000 on it and now its at about 21,900. So if anyone could help me, and take a little time to create a list for me that would be cool. I have some friends who can help me out, but they have different cars from me, in which their setup is different.

Give up the engine swap idea, you already have the best engine Hyundai makes in your car.

If you want a good reliable turbo kit then get the Alpine kit.

i live in south florida and i have a red '01. ive been pulled over more than 15 times in my car for doing anywhere from 5-31 miles over the limit. honestly, it all depends on the cop, the day he's having, and in south florida at least, if youve got the breasts to flaunt in their face. me being a male teenager in a loud red sports car, i dont get away with a damn thing. but anyways, back to your question. www.importshark.com has a pretty complete turbo setup, comes with almost everything you need. :smoking:
