Default OBX Crank + Pulley Kit

Hi Guys, I m a newbie here. I just bought a set of OBX Underdrive Crank Pulley and OBX Pulley Kit for my 00-01 Hyundai Tiburon (2.0L)

Although the box states that it comes with the necessary timing belts, there were none in box.

The seller claims that OBX does not provide the belts for the Tiburon... Have I been ripped off?

Hope someone can help me to clarify the matter...

Perhaps I can use back the stock belts?

Sigh.

it doesnt come with belts, the stock ones work, and the crank probably wont fit your car. i bought four pulleys from obx and only 2 fit on my car. and i know someone that had a problem with their headers from obx. i think its a bull$&!# company who really doesnt deserve any customers. but thats just my opinion. :smoking:

well i bought a OBX crank pulley and it fit fine but i had to use my belt from the crank pulley to the ac for the crank to the other pulley so i'm running no ac right now... And i also have OBX headers and they fit fine, they are a little short but it worked... so i don't think obx is that bad of a company...

obx headers didnt come with a place for 02 sensor, and they didnt come with the gasket i needed, therefore there is a leak. fantastic. i don't plan on buying from them again.

sorry for late reply, but ditto... :ermm:

i did this upgrade last year on my 1999 Elantra
i bought the same pulleys from OBX crank + OBX power pulley kit (on eBay) but the power steering pulley WON'T FIT. my installer showed me that the power steering bolt has star grooves in it, while the OBX power steering pulley is smooth. everything else will fit fine, but with a slightly smaller belt, not sure which.

its a good deal though, but now my stock power steering pulley hisses a bit cuz it runs (wears out aranoid faster than it should, not like the other pulleys, which are lighter. i just spray a bit a WD-40 or silicone penetrant and it goes away, usually.

oh yeah, the pickup is real good, combined with my CAI i have some nice low-end torque. feels like a midsize engine with the faster revs.

Are the accesory pulleys underdrive units as well? If so, I wouldnt run them with the crank pulley as you'd be double-underdriving everything, affecting function and drivability.

Also, you're spinning the power-steering slower, due to the smaller diameter of the crank pulley. Hence the term "underdrive".

obx pulley did not fit my car.

I purchased the obx adjustable cam gear, fitted no problems
Priced about $80 usd.

All the belts were extra, when I had to get the installation done.
The cam gear only became useful, when I had to get the Camshafts upgraded.
