Default Ticking noise?

Hi guys. I have a 97 tiburon 1.8 5spd. And I have been driving it for about a week (i just got it), and in this week ive noticed a few problems right off, like no reverse lights, my brakes are bad, and I need to adjust my clutch. Well I was driving along and then when I would shift it into 2nd it would take off like I was holding in the clutch just a little when it was all the way out, It revs pretty high when im letting the clutch out (almost all the way out) and then it suddenly drops to a normal RPM. Which I figure the clutch pedal much just be REALLY sensitive or there is something wrong? Also this ticking noise is coming from IDK Where. When I am coasting and braking at the same time to come to a stop this ticking is really fast, and then when I am stopped completely it will slow down (it will be fast when fully stopped for about a second or two) and then slow down, and eventually stop, and it doesnt speed up when I rev' it. Sorry if it's not clear. THanks- Scott

IDK if it matters, but I also added a warm air intake.

Sounds to me like the hydraulic lash adjusters. Perhapse check the oil to see that it is full and that you are using the right oil for your climate. If it is getting cold where you are you may need to switch to a 5W30 instead of a 10W30. This oil is thinner and will move around more easilly in your engine. After racing Solo2 sometimes I find my engine will tick for a little while after because the oil needs to get back up into the top of the engine.

As for the clutch... It is a hydraulic clutch. So you won't "feel" it in the peddle when it is engaging. This you must feel in the seat of your pants. If you need to push it nearly to the floor before it disengages you may need a new clutch. If the engine is revving high when shifting try giving it a little less gas when shifting. Or let the clutch out faster. Something about your gas and clutch timing may be off.
