Default What is your top speed in your RD?

I was wondering what other peoples top speeds are in their RD's because now matter what i can on'y top out at 125mph. I know it might be the ECU but still that's kind of slow for me because Civic EX'x top out farther than me it pisses me off. If any of you have any good quotes on any ECU's let me know... thanx...

I've had the speedo to 132mph, not sure how accurate it is though. The ECU did cut out at that point and I still had around 1500RPM to play with. You can wire a switch to the Vehicle Speed Sensor and bypass the ECU cutout, as it uses the VSS to know when to cut.

As far as comparing it to the Civic, I don't think that's a bad thing at all. Remember top speed is relative to gear ratios in the transmission. Shorter gears mean faster acceleration but lower top speed. That just means the Civic has taller gears. So what if it tops out higher...you'll already be a mile down the road by the time he reaches top speed.

What's wrong with your tranny?

Most people here agree it's cheaper to just pick up a complete used tranny than rebuild one. You should be able to find one between $250-400.

Try http://www.allhyundaiisuzu.com I'm sure they have a few and have pretty good prices.

the dealership can supply bearings, shims, and syncros. you need to look up the part #'s yourself though and give them the exact # of what you need because they (99% of dealerships) wont look up those parts but they can get them for you.

end bearings are about $18-$24 apiece
syncros are about 80 bucks apiece
shims are like 15 cents apiece but damn near impossible to find out exactly what sizes you will need until you get the bearings pressed in place.

ive rebuilt one before and plan on doing another in the next 6 months sometime.
