Default 2000 tib tranny problem

Hi everyone, i'm new on the forum and since I got my tib I was searching a forum to get some help and advice...

My first problem here is my manual trnny poping out of gear...it keep doing it on the highway in gear 5 only...sometime it can stay in gear for a long period but some other time it can pop out a every minute if I don't hold it...

I want to know if there's anybody here that have the same problem and if there's a cure to solve this problem

sounds kinda like what i had a problem with first is it only when you let off the gas. You may not have to let all the way out for it to disengadge. If so i suspect that it is the large nut that holds on the 5th gear output shaft. the reason this happens is when the nut is loose the gear can move from side to side well when on the gas the gear gets pushed twards a sholder on the shaft, its supposed to be here so no problems. but when you let off the gas the gear wants to be pushed out away from the shoulder due to the angle cut on the teeth of the gear. when this happens it pushes on the shift fork kicking it out of gear. This should be warrantied by the dealer if not its a fix a tranny shop should do. Oh and dont drive the car at this point as when the nut backs out it wears against the outer case of the tranny putting holes in it. you will notice a puddle of oil on the drivers side of the car. Hope its not anything worse.

t4turbotib....i'm not sure if its your reason but the thing i'm sur is that it can pop out of gear anytime...when on the gas...when i let it off...when i push it more...it can pop out anytime and at any rpm too...

*edit* the machanic at hyundai dealer ship is telling me that it could just be because the oil is low...he tell me how to check this out but I haven't ad time to check it...maybe its only that...

ok dosnt sound like what i had going wrong mine was only 1/8th throttle or less when i was decelerating never accelerating. also check the ajustment cables thats an easy fix i didnt think of earlier they are under the shifter cover.

Could also be a bent shift fork. If the fork is bent, it won't push 5th all the way in.

i remove the shifter cover last week and a friend of mine take a guess that it could be the leather boot that cover the shifter that due to the cold winter is not stretching and could possibly pull the shifter back to neutral...since then i ride without the shifter cover and it tends to pop up less but still pop out...I think I will check the ajustement cables like t4turbotib told and if not I'll check the oil level...

I think that it may be the oil level because of last summer i found little oil spot in the driveway and it was not engine oil...maybe if I loose a little trans oil it could be it...since the little spot on the driveway I used to believe that the trans was a little harder to shift like it wasn't shifting like when I bought the car...since then everutime I shift its like my gear won't enter freely like it is always unprecised...i used to shift that way and didn't bother but now I feel it to be a little more since the gear is always poping out...

I'm not sure if I was clear enough to all but thats tehproblem...maybe if its just a little oil need I'll put some lucas trans oil additive sine I was using this in my last car and it was doing great...
