Default Exhaust Leak! Help me!!! PLEASE!

Im not very bright when it comes to cars but i am trying to be. lol. there is a piece in the exhaust before the catalytic contverter that looks like its woven. There is a LOT of air coming out of it all around. more towards the front. it make my car very loud! is this supposed to leak like that? if not what is this piece called and where can i find it?

It's called the flex pipe, some call it the header pipe or maybe even the dump pipe. They are very prone to rotting out, dealerships can get a new one for you, maybe post a want to buy in the FS forum, but theyre somehow extremely hard to find. I drive a 97 and just had to switch mine out a month or two ago. I'd say take a look over at rdtiburon.com as everyone over there drives an RD. Remember though, unless you switch the ENTIRE exhaust set up, the RD1 and RD2 flex pipes do NOT match up. Good luck man

They're pretty reasonable with salvaged parts. I purchased my down pipe from them because the flex part was leaking. Should be able to do it for less than 100.

thanks... i found pictures and all. that helps alot. now to find one. lol. i called that place and its going to cost about 90 bucks so if my junk yard dont have any tibs then i will probably go with that. thanks. also what other cars are interchangable?
