6 speed 2.7L v6 0-60 7.5 sec, 1/4 15.5 sec @ 90.5 mph top speed is 139 mph drag limited.
Expect limiters at 130 mph on all models
the gearing of the 6 speed is almost the same as the 5 speed except the 6th gear will let it cruise much lower at freeway speeds ( yet they rate the 6 speed to have lower hwy gas milage ). The Auto gearing is almost the same as the sonatas. It is also obvious the gas milage was calculated by Hyundai and was under estimated or in other words was under "Spirited Driving" conditions. Expect the car to actually easily do better in real life, Hyundai is UNDER emphasizing the cars performance and oh all cars will do .88g on a skid pad and slalom at 62 mph or better.
Just for comparison the 230 hp Hyundai motor sport 2003 tibs run like this
0-60 6 seconds ( the old ones did 6.3 sec )
1/4 in 14.6 sec ( actually slower than the 2001 tibs they had )
topspeed 145 mph, these cars are made for hi speed endurance racing remember not 1/4 sprints. I didn't get it's skid pad performance.
this is with the 6 speed and once again this is prelim info but the performance data is what it HAS done.
Expect the 4 cyl to be .5 sec slower than current 2001 models auto or 5 speed.
This info is from a reliable but unnamed source at Hyundai Canada ( quebec )
one strange thing ive noticed is the horrible gas mileage on the new tibbys, the v6 doesnt even get 30 mpg on the highway, which makes me question its gearing...
i dont think that its some kind of miracle that you can pull off 30 mpg on the highway with a v6......or maybe im wrong i dunno
whats funny is that even though its not that fast, it will still kick a 2002 v6 camaros ass... hahahahahahahahahhahha
the weird thing i noticed is that the auto v6 gets more gas mileage than the 6 speed.....anyone know why???

I just love how my friends have put $500+ into their civics & my stock tib still goes just as fast & sounds exactly the same.
So whats cool is with a 2001 with an CAI, Cat back system, header, BBT, and short shifter y ou should be able to keep right up to the V6 in race. Ya it takes some mods, but racing on the street one little slip from a bad driver in the V6 and he'll be handed his as$ from the 2001 I4. hehehehe, 21,000 and thats all you get is 0- 60 7.5? not very impressive. I would spend 2 grand more on an altima and hand it's as$ to him in 2 pieces.
Actually dijabutia you can get the V6 Altima for 23k. The price for the V6 Altima is $22,349 msrp. Though I'd get the V-6 Tiburon over the V-6 Altima any day. Now don't get me wrong. Those new Altima's are cool.
I just came back from looking at the Altimas.. They were nice except I hate the sedans and altezza lights... still V6 tib's 0-60 in 7.5 sec manual is pretty impressive.. it beats some of BMW's 3 series..! nice nice.. if I can just get V6 and mod it out to put 200whp..

Saving up more money for V6..
Few more weeks before manual V6s to arrive...

That was a bit disappointing, but I guessed almost right on, 15.4-15.5.
Not sure how it could have beat the RSX-S though cause the RSX-S would have had a little over a car length I would think.
Now 230 hp eh and running 14.6?
I think that is as good if not better then the Altima. If you get that sucker up to 280 hp (like I am hoping for Forced of course) then I would be running high 13's. That would be oh so sweet.
Reason for the slower times.
Weight Weight Weight I would have paid the extra $2,000 - 3,000 if Hyundai shed about 300-500 pounds on that car. I think it would have been possible too.
and all that freakin stuff covering the engine should take off about 5lbs on that car too
