Default question about the availability of the 2003

i went to my local dealership today to take the new tib for a testdrive (which was very, very awesome, but im not going to get into that). anyways, the salesperson was telling me that the car i was driving was probably the only 6-spd v6 model that they are going to have for a long time. he was telling me something about how they cant order cars from hyundai, they just send them cars and they find out what it is as they roll off the truck.

another sales person then told me that they would be getting one fully loaded 6-spd for every 9 other tibs they sell. doesnt this sound valid at all to you guys? or does it seem to be a clever ploy into persuading me into buying it there on the spot?

its mostly true... hyundai imports fairly limited number of cars from korea. The dealers order a list of cars they want, and Hyundai tries to bring them over here to the US. But if the dealer is say on the end of the list, they usually have to wait longer for them to get their orders. So in conclusion, he might not be lying..
After all, the new tibs are really hard to find these days..

When I test drove the 03 tib the dealer said that it had orders in to Hyundai and were only hoping for a 6 spd. They were just glad to have the one that they did. Acording to the dealer it sounded like the 6 spd would be very rare in Indiana for a while.

The dealers don't know for sure what they are getting in stock until it arrives but 70% of the new Tibs coming to the states will be a v6. I do not know how many of those will be the auto and how many will be a manual.

Don't be pushed into getting a car that you are not ready to get

You think thats bad?

The dealerships here in Canada mostly won't let you test drive any of the GT's they have.

Why?

17" Z-Rated Tires

That might be also why they don't have the manuals in. The ones they do have in are mostly for the showroom to show you the 'cool shiftronic', and the 'Superman looking' V6.

I have been allowed to drive every single model that hit the floor. I have yet though to drive the XG350 (I never asked) and for the first time I ever, they said 'no I can't drive the Tiburon V6'.

It was rainy on the roads anyway, so I couldn't test the car out

steal the topic for a second, but XG350= hehe, very nice, lots of luxury and the v6 200 hp just moves you nicely, and it weighs a lot more then the tib, so drive that, and think, little tiburon, 6 speed, hehe
