Default Alternator Battery Question.

I have an optima top battery thats going in my trunk and it will be running my stereo system and will be connected parrall to my battery in the front of the vehicle. Now will my 97 Hyundai Tiburon Alternator be able to withstand charging both batteries? Let me know thanks

Default Re: Alternator Battery Question.

tiburons run on a 90 amp alternator, which is kinda weak in comparison with most alternators. if you are gonna be doing a really powerful sound system, you might wanna check out a stronger alternator for charging two batteries.

but your current alternater will work. but im not an expert on soundsystems/electronics so you should try the sound forum

It'll charge it fine as long as you're not drawing more than 90 amps at any period of time with all your accessories running.
