Default 18s and RD Tiburon.....

I was wondering if 18s would fit my Tib. Currently I'm wearing 215/40/17 but they look to me toooo small looking the car as a whole. I like the OZ-Super Leggera 18x8 which will probably require 225/40/18.

Has anyone tried 18s? What about the offset?

I've actually seen pictures of 19's on a tib. So yes, 18's will fit (not sure 18x8 will fit). You're going to have some skinny ass sidewall though, not a lot of cushion for the bumps on the road.

i wouldn't really recommend getting 18's for driving use. if you show your car, then you can get them...then you can even get 19's.

I have 215/40 R17's on my car right now. If I choose to lower my car I will have to switch to 205's

Hi, I've got 17x7.5 (or 7 not really sure, don't remember) and I have also lowered my car and it works fine, no rubbing no nothing, dont' worry!!!!

Because my car is already lowered, in order to fit the 18s probably I will have to cut the fender....BUT!!!!!!! I intend to put some wide fiber fenders and remove the stock so I think the front fenders won't be a problem, but what about the back fenders???? Should I cut the fender or since the wheel doesn't turn it will stay inside the fender at all times?

Lets say I'll fix the problem with the rubbing and the fenders do you think I will have any problems driving that beast on 18s????

They will fit, but be prepared to have your guards rolled at the front and get used to not turning the steering wheel full lock.

a 225/40/18 will not fit on a rd tibby, we tried it last weekend. the tire is less then a finger tip away from the front bumper, and if u turn the wheel at all, it rubs horribly, heres a few pics i took to prove the fact

i personally run a 205/40/17 with no issues, and u can run a 215/40/17 with no issues if your not lowered.

I have had a set of 18x7's on my car for about three spring/summer/fall seasons now, and I have had no problems. I have a set of 215/35/18 tires. Although you feel a few extra bumps, the car does handle significantly better due to the decreased sidewall size and increased tread area. I would say that if you want to run 18x8's you would need at the biggest a 225/35/18. Maybe even a 30 series on the sidewall if you can find one. Just keep in mind that as you increase the width of the tire (first number), you also increase the sidewall height (if you leave it the same number). So, the wider the tire, the lower the middle number needs to be in order to properly compensate for the bigger wheel without going too much bigger than the factory tire size (outer diameter). I don't think you would have an extreme rubbing problem if you did the 225/35/18. Maybe once you are almost all the way turned in one direction. But keep in mind that that is just my opinion and the real outcome may be different. If you could find a 225, 235/30/18, you would definately be fine, but the sidewall would probably be even smaller. (a 235/30 probably has the same height sidewall as a 215/35 though). Good luck and lets see some pics when you are done!
