Default Automatic Tranny Options

Will any auto other than a 97-00 tibby 2.0 tranny go into a 98 tibby? I believe the 1.8 will go but would need the tranny computer? Will any of the Elantra or Sonata, etc, go in here without being a logistic nightmare? Despite all the auto to manual swaps, there seems to be quite a short supply of the actual correct build automatic tibby trannys available.

It is for my 16 year old who wants it to stay automatic, not everyone wants a stick.

i drive a 99 tib fx and its auto and i feel miserable about it, but the effort to do the swap, i mean what is the point, its not like u will be quick after the swap, quicker but not quick, if u just want more entertainment out of ur car than get a f-body or mustang
