Default how about this question and an honest answer

i own a 99 tib fx (u prob already know this) and i have asked alot of questions but how can u have such drive to enjoy such slow cars (no offense) when u could buy a camaro z28 for like 7 thousand or a mustang 5.0 for like 5 thousand, im not trying to be rude, but ur minds work in ways that i just dont understand

well lets see, the older mustang 5.0 isnt fast. The tiburon looks much better than either car you mentioned. The tiburon is more reliable than the cars you mentioned. I dont think in stock form the tiburon is a speed demon, but with just an intake it did run a 15.8. with under a thousand invested im low low 15s. Thats not too bad in my book. Oh yeah one more thing the tib will easily outhandle the cars you mentioned also.

the other reason you think yours is so slow is because its an automatic.

Why buy a car that is so common and already modded and figured out? Wow, you bought a 5.0 and made it fast. Congratulations #12,035. There's not too many RD tibs on the road, even fewer that are modded.

Also, a 5.0/z28 is a good 500lbs heavier, I'd like to see you race that in anything other than a straight line.

In case you didn't notice, most people don't buy a hyundai with intention to make it a fast car. Hell it was my first "real car" (not some cheapass 20 year old beater) and my daily driver for 2-3 years before I started modding it, I just worked with what I had. For many it's meant as either a starter car or a daily driver, not meant to be gas-guzzling fast.

Finally, I held my own with a 5.0, believe it or not. There's a few hyundais out there that will eat most any mustang/camaro alive. I've ridden in one Just because you don't see them often doesn't mean they don't exist. And if you ever run into one, may god have mercy on your soul

Simply, if you have the American muscle car, bigger is better attitude, you will never understand import tuning.

In Canada a 2005 V8 Mustang GT costs about $34,000. A 2005 I4 Tiburon SE costs about $23,000.

This leaves us with $11,000 to do with as we please right?

Hmmm....

$3500 for turbo
$700 for exhaust
$1500 for racing clutch
$500 for light weight flywheel
$1500 for LSD
$1000 for misc internals
$700 for nitrous
(estimated prices.)

=$9400 spent and a car with half the cylinders that will smoke a mustang.

I thought some math would make sense.

actually a z28 and newer mustangs can out handle any tib on the market, fwd dont mean u can handle it only means u can hold the road better, a z28 may be heavier but it will out handle out accelerate and out run u, u got to remember those cars are meant to handle, the engine sits behind the frond suspesion and lower than our cars engine

ohhh and cottonmouth buy the time u have spent that money u would have taken out any reliability u had befor a turbo and u would spend 11000 maxing out ur engine, where as the z28 aint been touched, dont u all see, z28 forums, mustang forum they all r aware of ur arguments of gas milage, possible upgrades, blah blah blah, and they all laugh, why because u want a car with = horsepwr of a motorcycle and less potential than a v8 or even v6 and i know i cant take any car just about with my 4-banger
