Default Wheels.. what`s your experience with sizes..

Hi...

I`m new to this forum, I`m from Poland and I owe hC (it`s Hyundai Coupe here), just the one listed in my profile.. Next week I`m going to buy new rims and tires so I would be glad if some of you guys could provide me with some information.

I`m wondering about maximum size of rim that would fit to my hC. It`s not grounded.. has stock springs and dampers. I would prefer to buy tires profiled to smth like 35 or 40...
Would 19x8" rim with 35/40 profiled tire fit my hC?
Please share your experiences with simmilar configuration you`ve tried on Your tib..

I have 18x7 rims on my tib with a +40mm offset when I had a 1.75 drop on mine. I had no issues with rubbing except when turning full lock or when going up a step incline. With no drop you shouldn't have any problems with the 19s on yours but the width might be a little to wide. Can you test fit one on there? 8" wide you might rub your fenders on step incline but not sure I guess it depends on the offset.

Your ride will be a little rougher with the 19's and the 35/40 series tires. Im running 215/35/18 on my car rides ok. Hope that helps if your stock it will be close b/c the overall height of the rim plus the tire.

I would try to test fit and see how the tire lines up with the fender and how close the fender actually sits to the top of the tire.

If you go with the 19's, you will definatly need at least a 35 series tire, maybe a 30. Remember, the wider the tire gets, the taller the sidewall gets even when it remains the same number. For example, a 215/35/18 (what I have, works great, no rub) will have a shorter sidewall than say a 235/35/19 (probably what you need, maybe a 245). The larger the first number (the width of the tire), the smaller you will be able to find a sidewall size. You will never find a 215/30 tire, but you might find a 235-245/30. I think if you found a 235 - 245/30/19 you would be okay. Preferably the 235/30/19 if you can find a set. The 19" setup will probably cost about a grand more than the 18's though, especially with a 30 series tire, so maybe you should just go with a 215-225/35/18 that you know fits. Good luck (I hope I didn't confuse you, if you need elaboration, just ask).8D

Try using 30 series tires if you can find them. 35 might cause some rubbing if you get 19's
