Default Grinding second, please read.

Okay has anyone had this problem. When I shift at 3000 rpm or below from 1st to second, its fine. If I shift at 4000 rpm or above it grinds very loud into second. No other gear. Is there any info on clutch adjustments or is my tranny in trouble? all info appreciated.

With just 32,000 miles on my tranny the 2nd gear blocking rings had to be replaced. It is just a problem that some selective transmission have.

I owned the zex kit. It was great, the car hauled as$! until my engine self destructed and the clutch and now my tranny. Not bad for having only 10,000 miles on it. When I fuk $hit up, I go all the way! But seriously it was great I just didn't take enough precautions. get a electronic rev limiter, I hit the factory rev limiter twice and I think thats was killed my car. It's hard not to when you lose all traction and your under spray. just be careful!

So how much is it to have the rings replaced usually? My car does the exact same thing and it is annoying! When replacing them will this eliminate this problem?

Well, count my 2k Tib in for 2nd and 3rd gears grinding.
No nitrous either.
Taking it to the dealership next week for a rebuild.

Mine grinds going into 3rd at higher RPM. Took it in for that & rubber around my windshild coming off on right side. The put some stuff in the Trans and said to see it it help. They where saposed to call me to come back in about 5 days when the new rubber for my windshild arrives.
I haven't gotten the call and the damb thing is still grinding. Callled & left a message and still nothing.

I remember something about the synchros on the 97-98 tibs being bad on a lot of cars. Of course there was never a recall issued, but I think there is a TSB on it. I believe it was corrected on the 99 Tibs, not sure beyond that.
