Default B&M Short Shifter Installed!!

First Off.. Thanks Chuck for the Great Service!!!

Hey all.. I got my B&M Short shifter in last week, and I took the time to install it.. Honestly.. I could have done it with 1 hand tied behind my back.. The hardest part of doing this was remembering which order the spacers and springs go back on the new shifter. But let me tell you.. It is TERRIFIC!
Feels like a TOTALLY different car. Almost feel like a RWD car now.. NICE and stable.. I feel as though I can pull the hell out of it..

I would say the front to back is about a 35-40% shorter throw, and the side to side is about 30-35%.

For those of you guys that are on the fence, Go to Chuck from RC Performance and get that bad boy..

REALLY friendly guy..

REALLY worth the 135 bucks!

I have the SR shortie right now and am sitting on the fence whether to upgrade to the B&M or not... I heard that it sits taller but the throws are shorter...

Has anyone switched?

I don't remember if it was here or another site, but one guy switched from thr SR short shifter to the B&M short shifter. He said that both where good, but the B&M felt more solid and the throw was shorter and well worth the money.

hope this helps.

Reid switched from sr to bm. he said that the bm is more solid and shorter throw. It's a little tall like the stock, but I'm planning on cutting it down. just waiting for a warmer weather.

Actually, the B&M is setting lower than I had my SR. I don't like the shifter really low, but it cuts about an inch and a half to two inches off the height of the stock shifter. One thing to keep in mind is that the shorter the shifter (height wise) the harder it is going to be to shift because you are reducing the amount of leverage you have.

If you pop your cup holder out, and put the car in first gear, the shifter ball is just slightly higher than the top of the cup holder with the B&M if that helps with visualizing the height of it. It's definitely shorter than stock, but it's not height adjustable like the SR is.
