Default New tibby owner looking for peformance mods

Hello,

I am a Z28 owner. My G/F has a Tibby, but everytime she gets into my car she comments on how powerful it is.

I told her she can modify her car with basic/general parts that will add HP, but I really don't know what they are since I'm not into the sport compact cars. So here is my quesiton.

To begin with what is the stock FWHP for a 00 Tibby?

What are basic performance mods that can be done (I assume exhaust, intake, etc.).

Most importantly what are the HP gains that can be expected?

One last thing. Who makes a good shifter for these cars? The stock shifter sucks! Way to sloppy. Are aftermarket shifters hard to install?

Thanks.

I believe it is 140 (don't quote me on that)

CAI, Header, Exhaust, BBTB.....it all really depends on how much you wanna spend

Stock HP is 140, there are several mods you can do, but i would definetly start with a CAI, it totally frees up so HP!!! and as far as shifters, I heard the B&M shifter is better and easier to install, dont know abour the SR Shifter, but i have the B&M and it is great!!!!

I believe its ranged from 118-121 whp might need to do a search, but thats more or less the stock numbers I have seen floating around here.

I think if you were to go all out N/A

I/H/E/Cams/Pulley(?)/throttle body might be missing one or two, you will be pulling some very nice times. (high 14's?? what did Red all have) Not quite like the Z28 though.

Or just get a Ballastic Turbo Stage II or III and keep up or smack down on the Z28 <img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0>

<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0> Cool. Where do you get your performance parts from. I do searches on the Internet, but it seems like a lot of places don't care about the Tibby.

How do the manual trannies/clutches and axles hold up to xtra power?

The part about laying the smack down on a Z28.....lets not get carried away! <img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>
