Default Brand New at This-What Cheap MODs can I do?

I just bought an 01 Tiburon on Tuesday from a dealer with 59K miles on it. I was wondering what the best ways to increase torque and horsepower would be on a cheap budget-around $500 or so... I am already going to put in an AEM CAI (with a bypass valve) and a short shifter... anything else I can do to increase horsepower and torque under $300 or so? Thanks.:bandit:

If you're doing the intake...you might as well to the exhaust....the more you have coming in, the more you need going out.

I probably will do the exhaust, when I can afford it, but right now I'm just a poor college student who spent most of his money on a tib... is there any small hp increases such as different plugs or other mods along that line?

hey go to shop.hyundaiperformance.com. Get the adjustable cam gears. then go to sharkracing.com, and get the volt stabilzer. Then get HKS spark plugs. And Nology plug wires.

Okay, a few dumb questions (I told you I'm new at this);
1) How exactly do the adjustable cam gears work? Would I want to get cams with it, and if so, would I need both cams, or just the intake?
2) I don't think I'll do the tb coolant bypass, I am moving to Flagstaff in northen Arizona, where it is extremely cold sometimes (far below freezing temps), I'm sure it would work here in Phoenix (where it is 120 degrees sometimes), but I'm a little afraid of the throttle freezing . . . am I right about this assumption or not?
Thanks a lot!

i live in Québec in canada i'm pretty our winter are a alot more hard then the one north of arizona over here -30°c is somewhat "Normal" in january :P i ran my accent for 5 years with no coolant line in the TB and never had 1 bit of problem in the winter i always removed the part of my CAI that was going Down to the ground ..... so it was like having a Short ram pretty much....

for the Camshaft from the other hyundai car you don't have to get Both at the same time putt wile the cover is up why not do both ? :P less money you speed after on istalation if you don't do it your self :

for the Cam Gears well it either Advance or Retard to opening of the Valve don't buy that right now because to get the maximum gain out of it you have to Tune it on a dyno... like advancing 1° testing the car advancing a bit more testing again .... till your on the spot :

you could buy a Underdrive Crank pulley it doesn't give hp but it's free up some of them you see an engine loose power at some place when you modify thing like the crank pulley of the flywheel you gain a few hp that the engine needed to turn the Heavyer parts :

i have a CAI and then i put on headers. when i put on the headers i noticed a dramatic increase in power i sure a cat back would do more but the headers alone worked well.irate:

Thanks guys,
I will probably do most of these things, the only question I have is where to get good cams, Kspec has some great prices obviously but I don't see an exhaust cam, there's only an intake . . . I'm not sure exactly how the intake and exhaust cams work together . . . could somebody spell it out to me?
Thanks again!

Oh god I just read all about the cams in the NA Tuning (So please nobody try to explain this to me) section and found out the Kspec cams are the 2.0XD Beta2 Cams, and I've decided im just going to put in 1.8L Beta intake cam in (and leave the stock exhaust cam in) . . . I should get them for very cheap considering I work at a dealership that has a Hyundai location and they will bring me any part I need for cost+10% Markup (which is about 1/3rd of the price customers pay). I guess my only question now is which is the best headers and catback to buy?
Thanks a lot guys, I've learned a ridiculous amount of info over the last couple days, it's been a huge help!
