Default Question about removing plastic on engine

There is the plug cover that everyone paints or takes off. Then there is the black plastic under it(basically right where the plug wires go down) About 12 screws hold it on. My friend & I took all the screws out but we couldnt get it to come off. I want to paint this white, but i cant find a way to take it off, can anyone help me?

Dude the second plastic piece is actually your valve cover. At least I think it is.If you take it off you might have to replace a gasket<img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Thats fine with me, we thought it was a gasket also, but, it seemed like a harder seal than that. Any idea how to get it off?

Remove the bolts and DON'T forget to take out your plugs <img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0> If it doesn't come right off, GENTLY tap either end with a rubber mallet.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>
