Default Re: Warranty Void

People have presented such a similar question many times before, "If I do such and such mod, will it void my warranty." All I can say without going into detail is this...if a problem occurs on the car on a part such as the suspension, but you modded the air intake, then the dealer still has the reponsibility to fix the suspension. Get it. Now if it occurs on theengine and you modded the air intake, the dealer also has the responsibility to prove that the air intake mod affected and caused the engine problem. Ya know I mean. But if you swap cams, then kiss your engine warranty goodbye. If you mod the exhaust in any fashion, then kiss your entire exhaust warranty goodbye. If you paint your car, kiss your paint warranty or whatever it is called goodbye. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

That's a pretty good summary for US law. But what about the law in the UK?

dunno, but as far as I know, as long as the parts you use and the mod you do are legal and approved by the state, then you have nothing to worry about...

dealers cannot refuse to fix your car, as long as you have legal, SEMA approved stuff... if there's any dispute, it's between the dealer/auto maker and the company who made the modifications you installed.

i'm pretty sure UK has similar guidelines.
