I went to Hyundai of Thornill last night and I was rather appalled at the number of people who have bought the new Tib without even test driving the car!
I went in and talked to the dealer and asked if he had a V6 that I could test drive and he said no. I called around to several other dealerships and it seems nobody has a V6 available for a testdrive. Really, much as I think the new Tib is a beautiful car and a great value, there is no way I'm going to make the biggest purchase of my life without test driving it first.
I test drove the Acura RSX and Subaru Impreza TS too. Both very good cars -- and both places had plenty for me to test drive.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a place I can test drive the new Tib in a V-6 auto (I haven't learned to drive stick yet) in the GTA. Thanks.
And I've heard that it's anywhere from 1 1/2 months to 3 months for a special order V6 Tib to come in. What is the expected turnaround time for your dealership?
I was one of those people that just bought instead of taking a test drive. I did drive the I4 and loved it, It had a nice set of balls and without the looks of Leather and the 17's I thought was simply amazing! Having the I4 for a few hours for a really good test drive and then after getting into my old 2k tib just made me love the '03 even more. I Never even seen the Carbon Blue clean and looked black when really dirty. I ordered and just waited for mine to come in, Let me tell ya though the week and a half was just hell trying to think what the car would look like with the 17's and leather.
When I reicieved it I was just amazed with the power and looks and I still miss the 2k but im not kickin myself in the ass for gettin the '03
I took the I4 out for a spin and loved it. I suggest that you do the same and then imagine it with sport-tuned suspension, 17" wheels and way more kick. I honestly can't wait to see how fast it's gonna be, 'cause I was impressed by the 140 hp!
Some dealers will allow you to buy the car subject to a test drive. That is, you put a grand down on the car and then have the option of buying the car after it comes in and you test drive it; otherwise, if you are not satisfied with it after the Test Drive, they will keep it and you have no further obligations. That's what I did and I'm now waiting patiently... Ok, not so patiently.
My dealer told me that a ship came in to Vancouver on Monday, so they should finally be getting some manual V6's in a couple weeks (if you live in out here in the East).

My dealer said the start of this week (Starting Monday, March the 18th), that the ship was arriving.
But, he also mentioned that no one's really sure what's on it, so hopefully they'll have a GS-R for you (is that what you ordered?). I opted for the 5 spd GT. According to him, they should be doing allocation (i.e. which cars go to what dealers) yesterday (March 19th), so they'll be able to give us a more accurate time frame very shortly.

Yeah, I ordered the Silver GSR back in January, still patiently waiting for it. I heard that there are only a limited number of GSR will be available for the dealers, not all the dealer will get a GSR in the first shipment.
My dealership, Ann Arbor Hyundai, has several 6 speed GT V6's in stock and available for a test drive. Feel free to come in and take one out for a spin.
