Default Tiburon Headroom

How much would you say Hyundai has improved headroom in its cars overall?

I once sat in a 91 Excel........evil miniature head crushing car.

im like 5'10 and have no probs. but i have a buddy who is 6'3' and is a big guy. he fits better if the sunroof is open. if you have a head room problem, get a sunroof and leave it open. hehe. and do pay attention to the three stickers on the car that says dont sit up in the back seat and shut the hatch. no headroom there. none. zilch. nada.

Actually, this was my only concern about buying the '03 Tib, since I love everything else about the car. They increased the headroom on the '03 by ~10mm (1cm) from the previous versions. I'm 6'1" and I BARELY fit in it (got about 1 cm clearance) with the seat all the way back and a decent decline. I guess that I'm just going to have to avoid speed bumps - ouch

If you get a sunroof, it'll cut off another centimeter (~1/2 inch) from your headroom. My buddy (6'3) was looking into the RSX-S, but his chiropractor told him that a lot of his back problems come from the fact that his car is too small for him (currently driving the Integra GS-R). He's planning on waiting to see if and when the Type R comes out in Canada, as it has no sunroof.

Advice: go to a dealer and sit in the sucker and see if you fit. Warning: even if you don't fit so well, you may fall in love and buy it anyway, just like me.

Anybody know what the average male height is in the USA? I think it's somewhere along the lines of 5'8 - 5'10. I fit just dandy

Don't know what the average American height is, but I do know that it's taller than the average Asian height - which is why the cars from Asia seem to consider head room as an after thought. All cars in this class have the same problem though; if ya don't fit in the Tib, you won't fit in the Celica, RSX, etc.

I'm about 5'10" and havew no problem at all.... If your like me and have the sunfoor always tilted during the day and open at night you might be able to fit ok even if ya taller.

Ohhhh.. Fianlly some compensation for us not so tall people, Sports cars, or in our case sporty cars... hehe

How the hell do people have head room problems???

I'm 6'1 and I have never had head room problems in any car, except in the rear seat of coupes.

When I sit in the 2003 Tiburon GT I have at least 4-6 inches, and those seats make you sit up. Sunroof and all. My Sonata same thing. Although the Tiburon feels like I do sit much lower.

Lower the seats and its fine. There is a nobby thing.

I'm 6' but I have about 1" long spikey hair i fit pretty good in my tib when i have the seat all the way back and decline it a little. I still need to tilt the sunroof so my hair doesn't get messed up

But sittin in the back is one thing that i hate to do, every little bump i hit my head pretty hard on that rear window

but no matter what i love my tib

Also 6', fitted me pretty good after I shaved my head.

So if you've got a long neck or a big hairdo, you can't have one.
