I doubt it is the intake manifold itself. I've never heard of a cracked intake manifold. It could be a failed gasket causing a vacuum leak.

I've went through that in the past as well(tps issue), when I put on a 1g eclipse TB I messed up the tps and it cause the same issue as a bad maf, bad cts, bad FPR. It could be numerous things.. .. .. I got the replacement ands its given me no such issue.
Why doesnt the mechanic do a boost leak test where he pressurizes the intake manifold and see if it holds? Theres no point in ripping out gaskets just cause they "think" that theyre bad.
My high flow fuel pump only flows more when theres a need for it, theres currently not a need so I get the same gas mileage as if I didnt have it.
