Headlights on the 1st and 2nd gen tibs SUCK. It's a known fact. I dunno about the '03s yet, but mine is horrible. My advice is go out and get some aftermarket bulbs. You should be able do a serach for the proper bulbs to put in (as I don't remember off hand) Then head over to webtech (www.hmaservice.com/webtech) and re-aim them. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

Try telling Hyundai Motor America, they wrote it.

They must have a biker working for them, who thinks he's funny.

While I'm here,I missed a bit:

Select yor car and year..

Then go to Body electrical system..

Lighting system...

Right headlamp....

Headlamp aiming...

Then follow the instructions

Just go into any auto shop and ask them to aim your headlamps. They'll have a laser headlamp aiming machine (that cost like 10 grand, so ya can't do it yourself).

Also, it may be that the Accent's not aimed properly, not the Tib. The low and high beams are actually the same brightness, it's just that the high beams are aimed at a higher angle. So, if you wonder sometimes why some ****heads always drive with their high beams on, it's most likely that their lows aren't aimed properly.

Just wanted to clarify what about not being able to aim them yourself, 'cause the machines are expensive. The machine doesn't do the aiming, it just checks to make sure that your headlamps are at the right angle. It's actually very simply to aim them yourself, as you just have to turn the phillips head screw at the back of the headlamp fixture. But to aim them at the legal angle, you'll need the machine.

A word of warning though - some car's engines are very poorly laid out so ya might not be able to get at the screw. I was aiming an Accord and one side took a minute, but for the other side I had to remove the battery and whole bunch of other crap just to get at the screw. So, it's best to just take it into a shop.

not sure about you guy's older tibs, but my owners manual has all the measurements in it for aiming headlamps on my 03. tells you how far from a wall to park, how far apart the beams should be on the wall, how high off the ground they should be etc.

I think the headlights on the 03's are great. Kinda wish the fog lamps would turn on without having the headlights all the way on, but other than that they're plenty bright.
