Default question any on know?

I want to get the veilside kit but I have a 98 would could I just buy a hatch from a 2000 and the tail lights and head lights, would this work? from what I can tell the fenders are the same and there might need to be some cuting around the tail lights to make them fit, but other besides that anything else that I would need to do? All they really changed from the 1st gen to the second was lights and front and rear bumpers and hatch right?

Pretty much every single pannel is different.

Hood
fenders
bumpers
hatch
etc

I thought the fenders where the same, and I know that hood is dif but the kit comes with the hood and the bumper, but what Im saying if I got the hatch would it fit the 98 and the car is the same with so I dont think I would need to replace the fenders, even if the I do need to buy new fenders its still cheaper then buying the 2000, hatch 450 and fenders 180 a pice tail lights 200 and head lights run 150 a side I think hell of a lot cheaper than a new car, and I like to inside of the 98 better than the 2000, I like the kits for the 2000 better than the 98,

Im not worried about the money cause I work for a body shop, and I get all the parts at cost and im shur I could get the kit for cost as well, but hey may not go for that. ANd the work is just about free, so it's all good.

The front fenders are the same part number between 1st & second gens. I don't know if the the tail lights would bolt-in or not. I posted the complete parts list needed awhile ago to covert 1st & 2nd gen fronts. From memory you need front bumper(veilside), radiator support, fender linings & headlights. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
