not really. The elantras everyone has been talking about are the pure mitz, aka pre-96 elantras.

With some clever engineering, a nice tig welder and some patience, you can swap the 4G63 into the Tiburon. There's enough room and you won't have to shoe horn it in, but it's definitely not an easy swap like a Honda swap. A couple people have done it, and there is a 4G63 2G Tiburon here locally. It's actually quite impressive.

Or you could just boost the 2.0 in the Tib? Cause.. umm, they respond REALLY REALLY well to boost. With a good tune and a good set-up 12-14psi could equal 300 whp. I dont see alot of evo's or 4g's running that low of boost getting that much horsepower.

Keep the engine hyundai, it has more potential then a 4g. Why do you think the Hyundai block and the 4g block look very similar? Cause hyundai knew the 4g was a good engine, but they new where its problems were. And when they made the Beta (your 2.0) they copied the 4g but fixed all its issuies. So no crank walk, no leaking rings, good flowing head.

I dont see why anyone would even want to get rid of the Beta. Sure parts are harder to find, but should that really hold you back?

Umm the reason EVO motors don't make 300HP @ 12 psi is they have lower compression so they can boost safer if they had 9.5:1 compression they'd make the 300HP just like a beta. Look at any turbo motor from the factory I can't thin of any that come with more than 8.5:1 compression. Why? Because high compression makes it a much more difficult to tune it's a fine line to walk on tune between good power and a grenading the motor... Also the ring lands on beta motors are too thin if you get a bit of knock you'll break a ring land compare the piston crown of a 4g63t and a Beta you'll see exactly what I mean. This is fixed by getting custom aftermarket pistons like Ross Racing etc.

Do the job right don't "half ass" it...
