1.8 ECU questio

Hey im sure this has been asked, but i tried even the simplest of searches; typed only ECU and nothing came up

so my question is what are the advantages/disadvantages of installing the 1.8L ecu into a car with the 2.0l engine ?

i swapped a 2.0 into a 1.8 car due to the 1.8 being destroyed. ive noticed that the 2.0 is a bit quicker on the pickup, but ive also noticed that the gas mileage has dropped a bit, and the 1.8 ecu has been tripping warning lights.
