In need of a 2.0 Transmission

Why is it so hard to find a transmission? When you do, the shipping costs as much as the transmission. Im willing to buy a damaged one as long as the bell housing and the output shaft are not damaged. I don't need the whole trans. Is there a place where I can buy individual transmission parts? Any ideas would help, Thanks

Well the look is over! I found a trans from a 97 for $400 and dropped it in this past weekend. Everything seems to be working good as new. New clutch, new seals, and valvoline synthetic blend gear oil. I'll submit some pics soon. You guys will laugh your asses off when you see the old trans.
