Default 5spd manual tranny, 96-98 elantra + 97 tburon=compatible?

hey i got a 97 tiburon with 2.0L in it. it has a 5spd manual. 3rd and 4th gear are gone so i need a new transmission. i was wondering if anyone knows if a 96-98 manual 2.0 elantra transmission would be compatible with my 2.0? ive heard some models are interchangeable, but some are not, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean? You want to bore the engine?

Does your question have anything to do with the transmission? Or do you have a 1.8L and you want to use 2L pistons?

You can bore your 1.8l engine out a bit but that won't make it a 2.0l. The blocks are pretty much the same but the crank, rods, pistons, and cams are different. You can mix and match different parts in certain combinations to increase or decrease compression and the such but boring out the 1.8l will not make it a 2.0l.
