Default lighting help

so i was taking my part of my front panel out like an hour ago. i was taking the sections out that house the gear selector and the radio.. whei was looking down there i saw a little red LED light i assume that the light goes in the little hole that i have always wondered about located to the right of the shift knob
i have an automatic tranny.
what is the purpose is that light for???

By any chance do you have Chiltons manual?? I am unsure what that light is for but I would be interested in what you find...maybe the manual shows it and states its purpose!?!?

haha!! Im really curious as to what it is? It sounds like its supposed to go in that hole you mentioned but I have no clue?? The only automatic I ever had was 95 Neon and it didnt have anything like that!?!?

so i figured out what that light was....
i was unaware that my car had a viper alarm system
haha
i bought another system and like went to start installing and was like o dang.
haha
i guess now i just have to look for a transmitter
