Default What the hell is this thing?

I have had my car for 3 years and I know every knoock and cranny of my baby...or so I thought. I change my intake setup monthly and I was tooling around today and opened up my driver side wheel well. (I have a 97 fx automatic) and there was this black box.. WTF?!? I followed some of the hoses leading from it and I noticed that one went to my driver side brake line and the other 2 close to my dash. well the question. What the phuck is that thing??
thanks,
Jonathan

It is a charcoal canister.
You can't remove it.

WTH is a charcoal canister? You can bar-b-que shit in there? Wow, that and a keg holder in the back would be awesome wouldn't it ...maybe even some boobies that pop out of the glove box.... ..... I'll stop now

It is an evaporation canister, it uses the charcoal to filter gas vapors.
