Default Is the auto trans for the 2003 tibby any good?

I am looking into helping pay for a V6 2003 tibby, with my parents paying the rest. Unfortunately they want to be able to buy it so I'm probably gonna have to get the auto. Does anyone have anything good or bad they can say about the auto? I've heard some bad stuff about their old auto's . ..

This is a totally different trany that was in the older Tibs. But I would still get the manual.

I agree, I would love to get the manual, plus it costs less. But my parents don't want to learn how to drive one, and since they are paying for most of it I'm kinda stuck with it

How good is the shiftronic mode?

So far I haven't heard of any bad things about the tranny. At least you know you won't ever miss a shift or over rev. Like Kirk said...the tranny is totally different, it is the new shiftronic that is offered in the Sante Fe and the Sonata...so I don't think you will have a problem at all. IMO

my parents paid for my tibby too. Right now I have the 6 speed ultra sports 3. I have never driven stick so i'm still learning. I'm totally f*cking up my car. Personally I think stick is too much of a hassal. I'm just too used to auto i guess. So my dads trading in my tib for an auto. Unfortunately i won't have the high spoiler of 17 inch rims.

personaly, would like the 6 speed with 16" rims and low spoiler. Had to settle for the auto which i thought would be more practical in town. Your dad wanna trade? I think i shoulda gone with the manual.

Maybe it came across a lil harsher then I ment it to.

But to answer your question, Yes I could be alot more harsh. If you weren't a newbie you would know that.

i know how you feel. my dad would not buy me the 6 speed i was mad at first but i'm over it now. i love my car its still fast. put it this way i spanked an old school 5 speed 300zx in the quater mile. i don't think he liked getting beat by a girl and like autobot said you will just have more of a chance to fuck things up with the 6 speed.
