Default '03 to 98' Tibby seat switch

Hey, another dumb question for you guys. I know, I know. Im supposed to know this kinda stuff. But, is it possible to take the seats out of a 03 tibby and put em in a 98 tibby? Are the brackets similar.

My quest for new seats in my tibby still goes on

I doubt the brackets are the same, but there is only one way to find out. Alot of seats can be customized to fit other cars. Sparco seats don't bolt right into tibs. You gotta make new brackets. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

'03 seats will cost a mint due to them having side airbags built in. Also, they might go off if you don't properly disarm them.

Dude be very careful... taking the seats out could result in you out cold on the asphault. Check with the dealership on proper procedure about disarming the seats. I dont think disconecting the bracket will disrm it. I knew a newb installer who got laid out by one when he took the seat out.

Not all the '03 Tibs come with side airbags. Only the GS-R (top end Canadian '03 Tibs) come with the side airbags. Not so sure about the U.S. spec Tibs though... but at the very least, they make them without the airbags.
