Default carbon fiber hood

how much lighter is the carbon fiber hood compared to the stock hood. Is it a big enough difference to warrant spending the money for one? Ive heard that the biggest performance upgrade is weight. I would of guessed forced air. who knew. Oh, and is any info out there about any being made for the 03. Thx

Default Re: carbon fiber hood

it all depends how its made. there are some CF hoods that only weigh about 8-15 lbs less than stock because of reinforcements to it and such. you should try find the weight of your hood and compare it with CF Hoods out in the market now before you buy any.

<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>Please note that adding a CF hood effects the weight bias of the car. On a FWD vehicle this is an advantage because less load will be forced upon the braking/driving/turning wheels when any manouver will have to be performed. Accleration...well since the front wheels tend to lose traction on a FWD platform, this one's already pretty obvious lol
