Warranty does not cover the clutch under abuse.

Well since the tranny is a whole new tranny then it is hard to tell. Nobody has burned one up yet. Maybe you will be the first.

Go hire a car, then practice your starts all day, no point fu*king your own car up

A normal clutch will last @ 100,000 miles - that is with people like my wife driving a stick - very shaky! And why can't she figure out how to put the car in reverse?!!!! I've told her 3 fricken times!!! It's a good thing she rarely drives my car.

I have only ever seen a clutch last to 100,000 miles when the car was driven without any abuse.

Go read THIS It's a how stuff works article on manual trannies. that will give you a GREAT understanding of why your tranny reacts the way it does. Then... read THIS It's a how stuff works article on clutches. Both these articles should give you a good understanding of what NOT to do I'm replacing my clutch in the next two weeks. I"m at 60,000 miles on my 98 tib. I'm usually pretty nice to her too. You're 16 and you're a guy (sorry ladies) You should have no trouble picking it up in less than 2 weeks. I still grind a gear once in a blue moon, but hey, who doesn't. Just go slow and you're all set!

yo m1234,

i was/still in your shoes when i bought my first 5spd (read below)

but like i was told once below.....it should be able to take abuse, just not too much

been about 3 wks for me(since i bought the car), and i seen to have everything pretty good, only thing for me is that i have a heavy gas foot and a light clutch foot if u know what i mean

(gonna be hard to stop doin it too, cause to this day, i still find myself revving to hard, and not lettin the clucth out quick enuff.....
BUt i will catch on, got faith in myslef

O BTW, i have to take mines to the dealership, cause im startin to hear a funny metal scrapping/coins falling to the ground (hope i described that right) and it happens at random, downshifting, upshifting, crusing in ANY gear.....so its freakin me out.......gotta go get it fixed!

had to depart from the old 2k 4dr accent, green machine....
but all is not lost, I have a 2k2 5-spd elantra w/convenience package so im still HYUNDAI!
