Here is a post I had on a different forum

This is what I have learned about handling from owning both platforms of these cars (99,02). The stock vehicle handles ok, you can do alot to improve it however. The three cheapest and easiest things are as follows.

Adjust the alignment with about 1deg of negative camber front and 1.2deg negative rear. Then set the toe to factory settings. You may need to open up the holes on your front struts at the knuckle (the top ones) to get the 1deg neg up front.

Adjust tire pressures correctly. I like to run the fronts about 4psi to 6psi higher than the rear

The rear sway bar needs to be upgraded if you want the car to corner and not plow through corners. I am not convinced the front bar should be changed for optimum handling. I feel that the stiffer front bar promotes to much push if it is any stiffer than stock. Here is the good part. You can purchase a 19.2mm rear bar for the 96-02 elantra and 97-03 tiburon at your hyundai dealer.
This is the bar used in the 03 tib v6. The same bar will fit all of these models. I have put the upgraded bar next to the stock bar in all of these car and found it to be identical.
Here are the part #'s you will need to order.

55511-2C000 $62 rear bar
55513-2C000 $8 bushings (you will need two)
55530-29500 $21 endlinks (you may need two)
The endlinks are only needed for cars with plastic endlinks. These prices are trade prices from the dealer. If the dealer is friendly they should sell them for this price.

The handling will feel much better if you do this stuff and your car will even oversteer if you are not carefull with it.

What is the price on the Whiteline rear sway bar because it seems the the 03 rear bar ends up costing around $100. How do all the bars compare in size (stock 1st and 2nd gen vs Whiteline vs 03 rear bar)? Just wondering what would be a better idea when it comes to cost vs performance and shipping time.

Hey jaws, I dunno if it's my browser or what, but your URL is showing up weird. I tried fixing it, but it might be a bug. I'll talk to rob. uzzled:
