the "BETA" is the name of the engine in the tiburon and elantras

The beta is just the name given to it by hyundai techs

Just like B16... for the SI engine

Topic moved from Forced induction Section.

I believe the beta name, refers to the first line of Hyundai's own line of motors, eg, line of motors not licensed from Mitsubishi.

I think the Alpha was the first true Hyundai engine.

yeah, the alpha was features in the early 97 tiburons. less hp, but still had the same performance, just about... I BELIEVE, if not better by .1 - .2 seconds.
