i would prefer to trade locally because i will need a full stock exhaust to put back on my car.
i am interested in selling my entire exhaust system. its a pacemaker 4-1 header which is ceramic coated black, 2.25" collecter- 2-bolt flange. from there it is a 2.25" s-pipe, 10"x2.25" flex pipe, 2.25" CATCO high-flow catalytic converter, and a flowmaster 40 series muffler WITH deltaflow technology.
the header itself is mild steel, and from there back EVERYTHING is 304 stainless steel except: the catalytic onverters heat shield is 409 stainless and the flowmaster muffler is 409 stainless steel. flowmaster sells mufflers both in 304 and 409 (well at the time i bought mine they did) and i paid the extra for 409.
it was professionally welded up by a person who now will not even do exhaust work except for race teams. he owns a dirt modified racecar and is very successful, aside from that his ONLY occupation is creating race manifolds for big-block V-8's. his manifolds (at least when i last talked to him about 1 1/2 years ago) were the dirt tracks 'best kept secret' due to the fact that he had a dyno at his exposure to test and rebuild designs, and thats what he did- and also his triple stage primary header design.
when he built my exhaust we just ordered the tube and he bent it all in house, with his gargantuan mandrel press which is about the length of my apartment and he says is one of if noty the best bender in NY state. i wouldnt doubt this because the bends are flawless. also all sections are TIG welded. the muffler tip is only 2.25" as well, and rolled downward and cut off flush with the bumper EXACTLY like stock. you cannot see the tip from the back at all, but it wouldnt be hard to get another tip welded on if you like the 4" tip look...
what i am getting at is if anyone takes this, it will be the last exhaust system you ever need to buy. its fully stainless and beautiful construction. the only reason i am selling it is that i am selling my car to my girlfriend and she doesnt like the 'buzz.' im not gonna lie it is fairly loud but if you added a resonater (the ONLY thing i omitted in the setup because i wanted pure performance and longevity) it will quiet down. it does open up the top RPM range quite well and i have no problems with losing torque at low end. even wit the taller gearing of the tiburon tranny i can still pull easily from 1500RPM in 4th gear on a flat road, even small inclines it wont bog down. so dont worry about teh exhaust being too big and 'killing' your low end- ive noticed no loss whatsoever only a gain that gets progressively better after around 2500RPM.
the setup will also come with an extended 2nd O2 sensor to accomodate it- so that means this is a FULL bolt on system. no tools needed besides a 10mm wrench for the nanifold, and a 14 and 15mm wrench for the header flange and the 14mm again for the axle-back clamp. a true bolt-on affair.
now for the downside. ceramic coating doesnt like salt and water- 2 things that NY has a lot of. because of that on the bottom of the header on the collecter, it has some ceramic peeling off. it still does its job by keeping heat out of the engine bay and velocity through the tubes because the primaries are all still coated and everything, but at the bottom where it gets splashed and rocks have hit it and such it is starting to chip away but thats about it.
i can say that i paid about $250 for the header brand new in a group buy
$120 for the ceramic coating
$125 for the flowmaster 409 40 series with deltaflow (look it up on flowmaster.com)
$30 for the flex pipe
$55 or so for the catco catalytic converter from sumitracing.com
$110 for the 304 stainless tubing. i forget what guage it is..... i wanna say 12 guage but i cant remember now. the wall thickness is just over 1/16" if i had to guess. if its that important i will caliper it and let you know but its very very durable. its what he recommneded and hes a pro..
$125 for labor to bend and weld the exhaust. thats only because i went to his garage and unbolted the stock exhaust and did whatever i could outside welding and bending while he was working on a customers limited modified to be raced the next day at oswego speedway.
thats about $800 i put into it and in reality its worth every penny in my opinion. youre likely not to find a setup that is this good of a quality elsewhere and if so youre gonna pay $800.
if you want to look up his work, the guy that did all thsi work is joe beyea. a quick google search and you will see his car but he does NOT advertise his headers and products. he sells them exclusively to race teams that he meets and thus the reason its still one of the 'best kept secrets' in teh biz. i do know for a fact he charges in excess of $900 for just a set of headers and competitive racers that want the best do pay for it. thats teh reason he wont do commuter/residential cars anymore because the damand is just too high and he is only one guy and has orders just lined up. if you go to a dirt race in the pits you may find 1 or 2 cars with the joe beyea logo on it somewhere in small print.
regardless, i am willing to part with this system for much less. since i will be getting back a stock exhaust system (in useable condition) and the oxygen sensor (like i said i will give you the extended one) i will take $425 for this. thats about 50% of what i paid. hell ill even help you install it because we will be trading exhausts basically.
gimme a post here or email me at the address listed in my profile. better yet do both please because hotmail has a way of filtering out random emails on me som just to be safe, inform me in both places.
also if you are willing to pay for shipping ill do that as well but i will need to get the exhaust first because this is our only car at the moment and cant go without a car even for a few days, plus the cost might just offset the benefits. i am negotiable on delivery options, if theres someway we can meet halfway and still have a place to change the exhausts (friends house, some random parking lot with prior permission lol) then i will o that as well.
good luck.

damn... thats a sweet deal. It cost that much for just the header from shophp or kspec. I personally have seen/heard his exhaust set up and it sounds really nice and everything is top notch. I can't believe you only want $425 for it...
