I have the stock 4-2-1 header from my 97. Yes, people have used the stock mani because it is a 4-2-1 setup with no cat.

Ill have to check it, it may have a crack in it.

^^^ Thank you. Thats exaclty what i have. Its a two piece cast manifold. The first part is a 4-2, and the next is a 2-1. Its just all ugly cast iron.

Go looking around rdtib, there are people that used the 97 mani's for a cheap performace upgrade. The primaries are about 7-11 inches long each. Not too shabby for stock. There is no cat on this mani, and no 02 bung untill right before the second piece ends.

i think im the only 1 thats swapped to a 1.8 tubular steel manifold. just cause my 2 piece cast one cracked, and hyundai wouldnt fix it even though theres a recall.

there is some work making it fit, theres no primary o2 bung on it. there primary on the older 1.8's are where my secondary is, so i had to drill a hole, and weld in a new 02 bung. and also its about 8 inch's to short to match up to the rest of my exhaust, so i had to make an extension. and it wasnt a straight on deal, so a basic chunk of pipe wouldnt work, it has two slight bends to meet up with my exhaust.

i can take pics if needed. there really wasnt any gain i noticed, just less of an exhaust leak after installing it....
