Default Thinking of a Tucson this fall - thoughts?

So this fall I am thinking of trading my '03 Accent GT for a Tucson Limited. Fully loaded with the sunroof and everything. My few main reasons for thinking of trading:
1: I own an X3 that is standard, so if I feel like driving a standard around for fun I can just drive that.
2: I would like to upgrade to something bigger and 4WD -
3: I REALLY like the Tucson body, colors, features - EVERYTHING about them.

What's everyone think? The only thing that will be wierd is the payment - but I'm hoping by this fall I'll have enough of my Accent paid off - and have enough saved - to basically keep the same payments every month(which right now is 287/mo for the Accent)

What's everyone's monthly payment that has a tucson v6?

the tucson is a very smart buy and not just because it's a hyundai, i see these car's and the new sportage's everywhere i deliver pizzas,
tons of safety features"TCS,ESC,multi airbags, award wining quality, good warranty, strong engines, good aftermarket support 'Delta & Beta engines"..turbo, intake, supercharger!!
it's roomy and has a nice cargo capacity and look's cute which is a hit for young female buyers

I'd get one seriously if i had the cash..sportage is a litle too odd for me..but both mini kia/hyundai utes got very high praises from motor trend..5-stars..and that ain't all given to the japanese so easily..

I got a Sportage instead of the Tucson because I like it better. The interior IMO is way better, the suspension is slightly stiffer, etc. Most magazines that test both like the Sportage better. If you chose the Tucson I am sure you will be happy though. Here is mine.........

My mod list so far.........
H & R springs 1.4" drop
18 x 7.5" Enkei RSV 35 mm offset(Had on my Tib)
235/50-18 BF Goodrich KDW tires
Blacked out the headlights and tinted the front signals
Tinted the tail lights all red
De-badged it except for the huge KIA badges(Thinking about the Studie replacements)
KDM rear spoiler
Tiburon metal pedals
Replaced the mid pipe with a 2.5" pipe until ARK releases their Sportage/Tucson exhaust
short intake with a ram air scoop from behind the grill
My old Pioneer DVD stereo, indash monitor, Rockford amp and Polk DB 12"sub

Oh I forgot. I paid $21K flat for mine fully loaded with the luxury package. My payments are $497 due to the fact that I had $5K rollover from my Tiburon.

To get payments close to your old payment, assuming you finance about $25K total you would have to put down about $9700.

can you get the diesel version! Get that! IT may only have 140hp but it has well over 300nm torque which is a LOT more than v6 powered model.

And if that's not enough for you, get big intercooler, 3" exhaust and re-tune ECU and you will get well over 170bhp and a tons of torque.

just drove the new diesel with 6 speed manual and I just loved it. Sure it's not the accent or the tiburon but I just love it.

I own a UK Tucson, bought in Feb 06.
Its the 2.0 CDX Petrol, I think the US and Canada models differ, so if you go to Hyundai UK and look at the specs of the Tucson, you'll get the picture.
OK, a little about me (It's relevent), I drive artics, Trucks to you North Americans, the BIG ones, I drive all over the UK, I work for an agency, so I get to drive ALL kinds, DAF's ERF's, Volvo's, Scania's and more.
They are big and comfortable, they have to be, my average milage per day is around 400.
Nuff said.

The Car, I love the shape, only the bonnet lets it down, it could do with being less curvy, a little more straight around the headlights, BUT that is the ONLY thing I dont like about it.
The interior is pretty damned near perfect, slightly thicker leather would've been better, but at this price? you get full leather seats for everyone, big spacious boot, boot window, (boot=trunk) plenty of space and tons of toys to play with.
EBD, TC, 4wd, ABS, cocooned in airbags, sideimpact protection, and tons more safety features.
Alloys, sticky tyres, excellent driving position, damned good sounding stereo even if it is stock.
But none of that matters, nope, not one bit.
Driving the car is what define's a car, and after getting out of a truck and into a Tucson, it's not disappointing at all.
I love it, if I need to buy some shopping on the way home, it would take me 5-10 minutes to get to the shop, BUT not in this car, it usually takes me an hour or more.
Same for all the little errands you run, you find excusess to go out in it, and find more ways to to get to where you are going.
I usually holiday in the Highlands of Scotland, and the 7hour drive is probably the most amazing drive you'll ever have. Good visibility means I can take in the scenery, comfortable driving and seating means no complaints from me or the passengers. Fuel consumpsion is pretty good too, so the wallet does'nt hurt much either.
The handling is also bloody good for a tall vehicle, we have a LOT of twisty roads over here, and it can cope with them without passengers getting thrown around, the TC does help if i've nailed it too hard, but you can disable it easily and really cut loose.

Highly recommended.

My Neice has just moved to Canada - August 06 - she needs a decent 4wd, thats both cheap and capable, after trying my car for herself, guess what car she bought when she got to Canada???
Yep, a Tucson.

I bought an '05 Tuscon back in Sept. '05 (5spd., 4cyl.,2wd) and I love it. I've put 16k on it with zero issues. The quality is really good and it drives great. I have only done stereo mods so far, and I came from a modded 2001 Eclipse and have no regrets!

I'm obviously biased for my tucson, but I love it I'm so comfortable driving it, even whipping around in it a little. Since I have a subwoofer I wouldn't mind a little more trunk space. When the seats are in position, two 24's of beer will take up most of the room! (unstacked of course ) But, to the contrary, I have also loaded up a big recliner and suitcase when the seats are folded down, definitely handy!

i just had the 07, and its kinda slow, but once i put an intake on it, very nice. id consider getting it, or a santa fe. ill say this, i was able to beat hondas with ease. kept up with my dads escape too. and of course beta mods are easy to come across. only complaint i had was the 4 speed trans. but over all nice. held my dogs nice, and my bike. id consider getting one, and then supercharge it.
