I own a UK Tucson, bought in Feb 06.
Its the 2.0 CDX Petrol, I think the US and Canada models differ, so if you go to
Hyundai UK and look at the specs of the Tucson, you'll get the picture.
OK, a little about me (It's relevent), I drive artics, Trucks to you North Americans, the BIG ones, I drive all over the UK, I work for an agency, so I get to drive ALL kinds, DAF's ERF's, Volvo's, Scania's and more.
They are big and comfortable, they have to be, my average milage per day is around 400.
Nuff said.
The Car, I love the shape, only the bonnet lets it down, it could do with being less curvy, a little more straight around the headlights, BUT that is the ONLY thing I dont like about it.
The interior is pretty damned near perfect, slightly thicker leather would've been better, but at this price? you get full leather seats for everyone, big spacious boot, boot window, (boot=trunk) plenty of space and tons of toys to play with.
EBD, TC, 4wd, ABS, cocooned in airbags, sideimpact protection, and tons more safety features.
Alloys, sticky tyres, excellent driving position, damned good sounding stereo even if it is stock.
But none of that matters, nope, not one bit.
Driving the car is what define's a car, and after getting out of a truck and into a Tucson, it's not disappointing at all.
I love it, if I need to buy some shopping on the way home, it would take me 5-10 minutes to get to the shop, BUT not in this car, it usually takes me an hour or more.

Same for all the little errands you run, you find excusess to go out in it, and find more ways to to get to where you are going.
I usually holiday in the Highlands of Scotland, and the 7hour drive is probably the most amazing drive you'll ever have. Good visibility means I can take in the scenery, comfortable driving and seating means no complaints from me or the passengers. Fuel consumpsion is pretty good too, so the wallet does'nt hurt much either.
The handling is also bloody good for a tall vehicle, we have a LOT of twisty roads over here, and it can cope with them without passengers getting thrown around, the TC does help if i've nailed it too hard, but you can disable it easily and really cut loose.
Highly recommended.
My Neice has just moved to Canada - August 06 - she needs a decent 4wd, thats both cheap and capable, after trying my car for herself, guess what car she bought when she got to Canada???
Yep, a Tucson.
