Default HELP!!! Engine cutting out and RPM Idle not steady.

Hi Guys,

I own a 2006 hyundai tucson for 7 months now and since this past week have been experiencing that when jeep warms up and engine is hot it sometimes stalls/cuts off for no reason at all. Brought it in to dealer and was told nothing wrong as no error shown up when checked with computer. When picked back up same still happened again and Fuel Pump changed and was told that was the fault why it was happening now its still occuring and was told they need to order new computer and that should fix problem for sure.... Anyone with any advise or similar problem that can help shed some light on what is really cause of this?

Thanks,

:dead:

If it's happening after yoru engine warms up, I'd guess it to be a fuel issue, Get them to check the fuel lines for flow, maybe there's a kink or debre in the line. The injectores would just see this as no fuel adn stall your engine. The next tiem it happens restart the engien adn try gunning it, if it stalls right away it's fuel, if it doesn't then you got me. Good luck

Default FEul problem

I own a 2.7 Santafe and have the same problem.I changed the feul ,filter, pump and injectors.Cleaned feul lines and changed the computer.Every time the agents were sure it would solve the problem but nothing helped.I did some research and spoke to a lot of mechanics and most of them are sure that it is the feul pressure regulator.I ordered one from the agents but are still waiting for delivery.I will let you know if it solved the problem

when was the last time your air filter was changed? some of the symptoms sound like a really dirty air filter, but since its more common for your engine to die when its hot, not a hundred percent sure.

I had a similar problem with my 3.5l Santa Fe. Apparently a squirrel had climbed into my engine department and chewed through one of my main vacuum lines.
May sound funny but worth checking out.
Later.

Default similar problem.

sensor for the tempurature. It's telling the computer to warm the gas, if your car has that. or lean/richen the mixture for a cold/warm start up. for start up cause it's not reading the tempurature right. happened to my 3.8L 1999 Oldsmobile intrige. It's pretty easy to fix just buy a new sensor. get it checked out by the dealer.

I had this (i believe) same problem just last week. The car would just go dead RPMS randomly. I really hope this fixes your issue:

pop your hood and check your air intake hoses. Make sure that all of them are securely fastened (they are metal rings that you screw together to keep them clamped) If you don't know, the air intake is the plastic box on the right side of your grill, just follow all of those thick tubes and ensure that everything is securely on there!

Hope this works.
