Default Engine Starting Problems on my 2005 Tucson

Hello, I have a 2005 Tucson (V6). I have been experiencing sporadic engine starting problems for about 8 months now and neither myself or Hyundai service can figure out the problem. What I'm experiencing is definitely not an electrical/battery issue. The engine will crank fine but not turnover. Sometimes it will eventually turnover on the third or fourth try, but you can tell by the sound that it is having difficulty. I have first noticed this when it was very hot outside, but now its ocurring even in cooler outside temperatures. In fact - the other morning, it took probably 10-15 tries to get it started. What is the most frustrating is that this problems ocurrs probably 1 out of every 15-20 times, so it is is not easily fixable. Hyundai Service said that they could not fix the problems if they don't see it for themselves and wanted me to leave the car with them for as long as it took to recreate the issue. I couldn't be without my Tucson that long and they did not offer em a rental.

So, I would certainly appreciate any incite here as this ios a very frustrating issue. I don't want to live everyday knowing that starting my Tucson is like rolling dice. Thank you.

Call the 1-800 found on hyundaiusa.com first. Then keep bringing it back. Get paper work saying they can't fix your car. Then check your local lemon laws and then remind them of that. Between them having to give you a new tuscon and hyundai bugging them... they might find a way to fix it.

powertrain problem's already on a new hyundai??

so much for hyundai's obsession over quality.."Scoff"

i'd bet it's a ignition problem..most likely with the coil pack's..

whan i did my beta swap..the beta wouldn't start with the beta packs but with the alpha one's..point here is igniton coil problems cause the engine to not fire up.

Here is the latest update..

I spoke to a Hyundai Service department that is located outside my general area for some advice on the Engine starting issue. He suggested that the problem may be with the Crank Sensor or Cam Sensor. Any opinions on that?

Is the air intake hose tight on the MAF sensor? Seen lots of issues with the clamps not holding.
