Forums are wonderful, it's the backbone of HP.com. This is just a suggestion so if it isn't liked, then trash it.
I like the forums, especially the seutp and colors, and the easy layout. I do however like the YaBB forums. They are easy to navigate as well and inclue an easy Private Messaging feature. They usually also include a link to see the 10 Most Recent Posts, so you don't have to keep going from topic to topic to see all the recent replies. I have been on a few sites that use these forums and you can customize basically every feature of it (color and all).
Again, just a suggestion. I posted some samples below.

ProBoards also seems to be very similar to YaBB! but I have not used them personally. Ilike the feature of being able to see the most recent posts. I do like the current layout, but I just wanted to offer up suggestions in case you guys have been thinking of a change. Keep up the good work :

I wasn't saying anything bad about the site. I like the design. I was just throwing out some suggestions. I got bored because nobody was posting and I didn't have anything to do so I thought I'd throw out an idea. I like them the way they are.

Sorry but we will not be re-writing the forums again. LOL

We chose not to go with Yabb because they are actually slower and inferior to the software we chose to use.

This forum was custom designed for our needs. If you have any suggestions such as the "10 Most Recent Posts" page, let us know. Rob can usually work it into the site. Right now you have the option of "Active Topics. Its the second link from the right, up top. You can customize that to show topics from the past 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, etc....

Private messaging is a planned part of the forum. Rob has been concentrating on the store, so that part has not yet been finished. Never hesitate to throw out ideas. We're definately up to them. The more feedback the better. 8D

I was unaware of the Active Topics link. I have seen it but didn't mess with it. That makes it so much easier when I'm just sitting here waiting for something to happen. Thanks for the info >;-] and I think that will work better or just as good as the 10 Most Recent Posts. I want Rob to concentrate on the store and not worry about the forums, my suggestions were just something I came up with while trying to find a way to contribute to the site. Thanks for listening

Just had another suggestion. For the profiles, have a section for people to post additional contact information. Not everybody uses AOL IM's... try ICQ, YIM, MSN, and any others that I forgot. Just a suggestion
