A suggestion for new sign ups - Hyundai Performance Forums

I think Auto will agree with me on this one. Couldn't you have the new sign up's forced to read the rules right after they sign up.

For exmple after they submit there application you automatically direct them to the rules page and force them to at least have a glance at the rules by not make the continue button available until lets say 5 - 10 mins pass. Anyone in his/her right mind would just stare at the page for this amount of time but read through the rules.

I dunno if this makes any sense but if it doesnt just let me know and I'll clarify.

I think if we made the rules page sit thtere for 5 or 10 minutes that a lot of people would close the browser and not complete the sign-up procedure.

With the 'Citizen Rating' system we have set up it makes it very easy to enforce the rules without coming down hard on anybody.

Not if a message appears saying something like

' Your registration is being processed please take this time to read through our rules and regulation to avoid any mishapes in the future.

Also newbies dont really know about the points system until its a little too late. And I'd guess Kirk gets his email flodded with email like why cant I post ???? and such. They're going to be forced to read the rules anyways after points are deducted.

Rob I'm not saying that the points system isnt working but itsnt prevention always better then cure.

To be quite honest we don't have a huge problem with newbies especially since we added the newbie forum if you consider we are adding an average of 25 new members a day.

I know if I had to stare at a page for 5 min I would leave not to mention, 90% of the newbies don't have to read it.
