Default MAP OF HYUNDAI DRIVERS

I posted this at the northeast message board, then here as well...

im really curious to see whos in the immediate area, so i developed this little plan...

this board needs a (close-up or detailed) map of the 50 states with different colored dots on it.. (specifying where you live, and the hyundai vehicles you own.)
this would atleast make searching for hyundai drivers in selected areas a little easier,
why not do it for every individual state across country?

for example:
if you lived in Delaware Water Gap and owned a 2k3 elantra (like myself) there would be a BLUE dot on DWG, PA.
if you lived in East Stroudsburg and owned a 99' accent, there would be a GREEN dot on East-burg, PA.

...and use different colors for all different Hyundai vehicles

also: when you clicked on a dot, it would take you to that member's profile, listing the cars he/she owned... i know there are a lot of members on this board that would like to know if there was any other hyundai drivers local to them to meet.. or develope teams and groups..

not everybody would have a tell others where they lived, of course, if you lived in Stroudsburg, you could just say "Monroe County" (for those of you who want to remain unknown)

THIS WOULD ALSO BENEFIT www.hyundaiperformance.com
it would help show how big the expanding population of Hyundai tuners/drivers really is
and it would also eliminate those pesky topics: "Does anyone here live in the Western part of PA? I do!"
so overall, it would benefit everybody... damn, i feel like im writting a persuasive speech plan all over again... college is really has changed me. i think way too much!

well, just a thought - i would really like to see happen

PLEASE-- if any of you are all for this idea, please put a reply on this message saying so... (for serious consideration by board members, creators, and moderators)

haha, true there are a lot of hyundai drivers, but i figure it like this...
you could click and zoom in on a particular county to see whos directly in your area...
well, thanks for the 'GO' on idea of it... ill definitely look into it asap..
i only had a few minutes because i just got back from taking MY LAST FINAL for this fall semester!! thank god!

well, i gotta jet off to work... but ill be thinking about it today, ill get back around 6pm EST hopefully

CHECK THIS OUT HYUNDAI LOVERS: my 'job' is to drive like 200miles a day, 5days a week in a 2k3 elantra gls 5-speed... (it used to be a 2k accent 5-speed accent, but our company upgraded!)

What jipple is suggstion would definetely have to be a customized software. I very much doubt you will be able to download anything off the internet for such a use. That is without putting hours apon hours of programming into it. I think its way to much work. A search function by state/city would be much easier then a graphical representation.

Mind you it is a good idea if you find anyone willing to put the work into it. Anyone will a little programming knowledge would easily figure out the task at hand.

Thats just my .02

The really big problem I see with it is that not everyone discloses what city or even region they live in. I couldn't care less. Everyone on the boards knows roughly where I live. The locals know what city. It would be such a huge task that it would be impractical. If someone wants to obtain city or region information from members in their area and create a map, I doubt rob would have a problem with it. I would actually appreciate it for this area. 8D

It looks like you guys want this project to start off more then I thought. I would contribute if I could get some help. Anyone else, apart from Rob, who knows anything about programming ? We could pull it off. Jipple have you ever seen such software in action ? If so post a link so I can have a look at exactly what it looks like and how it functions.

To pull it off we have to put a little research into it. I'm willing to put in my share and together with Rob organize the project. Its a he** of alot of work for one man to pull off but we could put a team on the job and ease the pressure.

Let me know.

Cheers
