I was wondering where you can buy headers for a 98 hyundai sonata along with some cams I have heard too much bad things about hdk that i do not want to try so if you know of any other please let me know.
If your engine is the 2.4 liter like mine, you can't buy poop for it as I found out. It will all have to be custom made, intake, exhaust, headers, etc. I'm in the process right now of designing a custom intake and exhaust for my '02 Sonata. When everything goes into motion, I'll be sure to take plenty of pics and post them on my site which looks kinda like a$$ right now. Oh well. :gasmask:

You can get headers for your I4 from Sharkracing www.sharkracing.com.You have 2 choices of headers. You can get 4-1 Headers from HVE or the same setup headers from Sharkracing. HVE is more expnsive but that is probably due to better quality. You also have the option with HVE to get them ceramic coated which I highly recmomend since it will keep tempurates down in the engine bay area. But with more options it also adds a few more dollas.

You are also in luck. Though the headers are not as cheap for you since your will require a lot more piping you still have the option to purchase them. These are offfered from a totaly different company known as RPWwww.rpw.com.au. They are centered out of Aulstrailia and they will ship to the US. All you have to do is go in the site, on the side click "general upgrades" it will take you to a new page that looks similar to the one you just were in. Then scroll down and again in the left margin area you will see "exhaust" select it. On the jump to menu of the new page click "Hyundai Extractors". THen it takes you to a section that tells them that they are developing them right now so contact their distributors. I didn't know that it was gonna say that so i just wasted my time going through the page. LOL. Neways, so just contact RPW and they can hook you up.

tranceokido, is there any luck for my crappy 2.4 I4?? Or do I have to custom build everything for it? The most important thing I would really need is just the header. If you know of any company that makes them, please let me know. :ermm: I knew I should have bought that darn Elantra....:disappointed:
Sorry Chops. Nothing made for the 2.4L. The only reason there are things out for the older I4's and the older V6 that hyundai only had which was stopped in 99, was because Mitsubishi manufactured the engines for Hyundai. Looks like you are gonna have to go custom. But at least you'll be more unique and IMO, more of a car enthuiast who cares and wants to have fun. Instead of people that just wanna show off so they go buy a Honda Civic because it ist he easiest thing to modify. Have fun man. I am kind of wondering what you have tricked up your sleve because it sounds like you want some real power really fast. I am sure you could get a ZEX system to cure your hp blues to start out with.

Is there anyone here in the HP forums or anyone on the web who can make a custom header for the 2.4 liter engine? It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just made out of stainless and functional. Of coarse, it has to be of good build quality, too. If I could get a header made for my engine, that would motivate me to go ahead and do quite a few more mods to beef up the output. My ultimate goal is to produce 200hp at the crank without any forced induction of any kind, turbo, super, or nos. If I can achieve this goal, I'll be one happy camper!
