Default Ground Wire Kit?

Has anyone here put one of those ground wire kits on a Sonata (specifically an EF2 Sonata w/ A/T)? I'm curious if it will do anything. I realize that they don't really add any HP but I have heard that on cars with an A/T they do show improved shifting. Can anyone here verify that (Preferably through personal experience)?

I was looking at the HKS kit but it's really expensive. I looked into the specifics and I can build a similar device with MUCH better wire and connectors for less than half the price. If it'll show any improvement to make it worth the $50 then I'll do it.

yes, it does not help power, but makes your car shift smoother, be more stable at idle, etc...i dont' know this from personal expierence, but i have heard this so many times, that i'd take it as a truth. $50 would be kinda borderline......i'm pretty sure u could find it somewhere else for cheaper...

Well, there's those $25-30 kits on eBay (they'll be $40 after shipping). The whole point of the kits (supposedly) is to have negligable resistance between all of the (important) ground points in the car.

To do this you need to use 100% Oxygen-free 4 or 8 gauge wire with as many strands as possible. The HKS kit has ~650 strands per wire. The wire I was looking at has ~670. I could lower the total price by using cheaper wire but then that would defeat the purpose. It may work just fine with cheaper wire, still, if I'm going to do it, I'd rather spend a few extra dollars and make sure that I use quality components.

Ok, I've just made up my mind to order the stuff I'm going to need to do this. Can someone give me a list of what to attach a ground wire to under the hood? I'm kinda new to tinkering with cars so it would help if you could give me an approximate location and a physical description for each part. Thanks.

I should have all the stuff here by the end of next week. I'll be looking at installing everything (hopefully with pictures) next weekend (assuming that everything gets here by next Friday).

this might help:

i don't think u wire one to coil packs since i'm pretty sure you do not have a distributorless ignition...

That helps some, thanks. I think that sometime over the next few days I'm going to break out my Fluke and start checking the voltage drop (and/or resistance) between various bolts and the negative terminal of the battery. Anything that seems high is going to get a wire. I bought enough connectors for 8 cables along with 25 ft of wire (which, hopefully, is more than enough).
