Well, the 4 banger engine they put on the Sonata is underpowered for a car that size. You can add just about any aftermarket part that will fit the 03 Tiburon.

nu huh...you can only add parts from the Tiburons V6 to the Sonata's V6 since they are exactly the same engines. YOU CAN'T take parts from a Tibs 2.0L and put then in the Sonata's 2.4L. Its kind of hard to find anything for the Sonata's 4banger seeing as its not a real popular engine to toy with. Check the store here to see if Rob carries anything. Also I think kspec.com might have an intake for you but that is about it. If you can't find an intake...go custom. You can also make your own...just do a search for the topic "build your own CAI," you should come up with something by Random.

Did you reset your computer when you put the intake system on? To do this, disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes(may be different for your car). When the computer relearns, it will adjust because more air is getting sucked into the intake manifold.

Believe me, I'm always on it from a red light just to keep up sometimes! 2.4L is bad enough, but 2.0L is just downright underpowered.

A method I use sometimes is to have my left foot on the brake and right on gas to get a quicker off the line reaction. And you can try brake-torquing, but you have to watch when the light will change because you don't want to do this for more than 10 seconds, tops. To brake-torque, hold the brake with your left foot and press the gas pedal and bring your revs to 1500-1800. Reply with results!

Damn, I hosed that. I have the V6 Sonata and am used to thinking about the Delta... I thought that I looked around Hyundai's site before and noticed that they both had the same engine options. Sorry about that...

yes, the V6 in the santa fe, 2002-2003 sonata, and hte 2003 tib is the same 2.7L V6. the 2.0L beta II based on the DSM 4g63 might be similar to the 2.4L in the sonata, but i doubt it. it's name is the Sirius II, i think, not too sure. i was wondering if it was similar to the DSM 4g64, and if it was, it would be very similar to the 2.0L II found in the tib b/c the 4g64 is basically the 4g63 with a larger bore and a longer stroke, but i'm starting to doubt that it is.

The 2.4L sonata engine is the 4g64. The same as used in the Mitsubishi Galant, and Eclipse spider. The only differance is that the Hyundai variant has dual overhead cams where as the Mitsu's only have single overheads.
