Default Adding ambient HVAC controls to an LS trim level?

has anyone taken the time to check to see if the upgraded hvac controller will fit in?

is what we have...

and I want to get Amanda this one for xmas...I know i have to add the external temp sensor...but what about the wiring? I have a donor car in a junkyard near Pittsburgh that i'm gonna get the stuff from if it's worth my time to do.

hmm there was something similar posted to this over on newtiburon.com. basically, you could do it, but you'd have to figure out how to wire it, and do all the wiring yourself, which would be a major PITA.

You could do it. Just like Nogo said you would have to all the wiring yourself and add the external temp sensor. But if you have some basic knowledge you can find the wiring schematics on www.hmaservice.com I am kind of wondering if the ports are the same that way it could just be plug and play. I would imagine so instead of Hyundai having to produce one more thing just to hook up. I say look at the back of your HVAC module and the one you want and see if it could be plug and play. But don't be fooled if its, there is bound to be extra wiring for the external temp sensor.

well if it is a USDM thing and not just KDM, then i would hope the wiring schematics will be on the ETM for webtech. and well........the links to the pages are there, but the pics are broken URLs! maybe email whoever u can to try to have them fix the schematics, then have fun...
