factory amp in 02 sonata?

I recently installed an after-market head unit in my 02 sonata gls double-din. The only problem is that the sound is very loud at a low volume setting. Is there a factory installed amp or amps for each speaker? If so how do I correct this problem. Is there something I can by to bypass it or do I have to run all new speaker wire from the head unit? I have looked everywhere and can't find an answer. Any help would be appeciated.

I don't believe there is a factory amp for the Sonata. They should put one in though. Could it be a defective HU putting out a stronger signal thus increasing the volume to an unexpected level. I say you ask a moderator to move this to the Audio section or yourself just post again. Your post will get a lot more hits there than here and there are more audio experts visit that section than here. I would love to help, but my knowledge in stereos right now is very little and my theroy above is the only one I could come up with. Sorry man.:depressed:

I recently installed aftermarket speakers and a head unit in my 2002 Sonata and with no problems. There is no factory amplifier and the new head unit works like a dream.

I am with tranceokido on moving this one to the Audio Forum. solo and the guys may be able to help you out quicker.

have you made sure to check all the settings, like the EQ, the crossovers, the bass, and the treble?
