Default PWR light on dash

Hey all, I was bored so I was checking out wiring schematics on WebTech. I came across a find under the Automatic Transaxle section. The TCM has a "Power Mode" input and along that wire, there is a connection into the instrument cluster, but it is not used in USA. I checked out the schmatic for the ECT switch and it too has the wire routing to the light. Any 1995-1998 Sonata owners can find this light in question between the door ajar and low fuel light, under the O/D off indicator on automatic transaxle cars. I had my cluster out once and I saw this light hole covered with a black adhesive tape to black it out. What I plan on doing is removing the light from the CRUISE indicator(seeing as I dont have CC) and inserting it into the hole for the PWR indicator. I will get back to you on this.

yeah, i've always wondered why that light never went on when i put the ECT in power mode. of course, the gauges are really screwy. a lot of ppl have told me their low fuel light also doesn't work on their Y3, so i think that's also a common problem.

My low-fuel light is actually on right now haha. It kinda fades in and out and it only comes on when you are stopped. Wierd.

The PWR light function is a no-go. I put a bulb in and it didn't work, but I know the bulb does. It does say its all wired in and everything.

This is really baffling me. All my wires are connected, the wires indicated on the schematics are there, and the light bulb works, yet the light doesn't light up. I'm totally clueless to this.irate:

probably.....gre:gre:

You know, I was thinking. Maybe the PWR light is a light requiring a bigger socket. Some of the bulbs on the back have gray holders(illumination[4], high beam indicator, and low fuel warning). I'll try switching a gray holder into the socket.

Thats a no-go. Webtech doesn't list this light as a regular warning light because USA doesn't use it. And the grey holder is too big for it. You got any ideas djnogo? I figure if there's a will, there's a way.

i can only think of running your own wiring, and putting an LED in the gauges.
